Drafting Where You Work: Paximal's MCP Comes to Perplexity Computer

We think of the MCP as a second surface onto our core technology. The Paximal app and the connector are two ways into the same drafting agents — use either on its own, or both in tandem. Today that surface reaches further: the Paximal MCP is now available in Perplexity Computer, another agentic environment many patent teams already use for prior-art reading and internal research.

Perplexity Computer is an autonomous, multi-step agent: you hand it a task and it works end-to-end. Pro, Max, and Enterprise users can add custom MCP connectors by pointing it at a server URL and authenticating (OAuth, API key, or open). Add the Paximal connector and a disclosure can move into a Paximal project for alignment, generation, and review without leaving the environment the rest of the team's work passes through — or stay in the Paximal app for a heads-down session. Same core either way.

The multi-model angle

Perplexity Computer runs a Model Council that routes each subtask to whichever frontier model it judges best — Claude, Gemini, GPT‑5, Grok, and others — rather than committing the whole job to one. That routing doesn't touch the drafting: the spec is still written by Paximal's agents, and the orchestration layer only decides when to invoke them. So drafting quality stays Paximal's, consistently, no matter which model handled the surrounding research, summarization, or assembly.

What you can do with it

The Claude Cowork workflows carry over, because they were never about the host — they're about what happens when the drafting agents share a conversation with live data. Pull an art unit's profile into the conversation and let the agents structure claims and fallback support against its common rejection grounds and surviving amendments. For a continuation-in-part, query the examiner who handled the parent and fold what they've allowed and knocked down into alignment. Run Paximal alongside a patent-intelligence connector and the agents aren't working from public filings alone — they draft against how the relevant slice of the USPTO actually behaves.

Getting set up

Drafting should be available wherever serious agentic work happens, not gated to a single assistant — which is why we keep the core fixed while the surfaces multiply. If you're a current Paximal customer, connecting the MCP in Perplexity Computer is a short setup step: add the connector by URL, authenticate, and you're drafting. If you're not yet, schedule a Paximal demo and we'll show you the workflow in whichever environment your team already lives in.
